Joey Bada$$ knows his way around a remix, and he doesn't disappoint in his own version of YBN Nahmir's hit song "Bounce Out With That," which dropped Tues., March 27. The Amerikkana artist floats easily over the song's original catchy beat as he flexes a few bars with his distinct flair.

"Put it on my mother, I'm a jiggy muthafucka/Pull up with a red bone like my name is Donald Glover/Hit 'em up I feel like Tupac and I'm sicker than a flu shot," Joey spits.

He mirrors YBN Nahmir's own hook in the remix. "Lately we been on that fuck a nigga bitch/Pass her to the clique we ain't going through shit/25,000 for that Rolly on my wrist/All these labels want to sign him, told them I'm already rich/Eastside nigga, I'mma get it off the rip/I be movin' 'round with them Eight Trey Crips/They be runnin’ down if a nigga talk shit," he raps.

Joey has been putting his own spin on a lot of bangers recently, and linked up with XXXTentacion to freestyle over "King's Dead" by Kendrick Lamar, Future and Jay Rock.

He and X have been frequent collaborators recently, as Joey appeared on XXXTentacion's new albumwhich has taken the number one spot in six countries.

Bounce (Samantha Jade song)

2019 single by Samantha Jade

"Bounce" is a song by Australian singer Samantha Jade. It was released as the first single from her fifth studio album on 20 September 2019. The song was co-written by Jade.[3]

Background[edit]

In an interview with the Star Observer, Jade explained that "Bounce" "not only focuses on the spring step that comes from being loved but also centres on the personal growth that comes from loving another. [...] Basically, it's a song about love. But it's about that person you meet that puts a bounce in your step and makes you want to be better, and as it says in the bridge 'love harder' and do better, and just be a better person. I think that's a very different love [compared] to that kind of obsessive love. It's a better love."[4] She has described the song as "R&B pop and it feels very natural for me. It's a return to my roots with the music I started doing when I was 17."[5]

Promotion[edit]

To promote the single, Jade was announced to perform at the final of the ninth season of Australia's Got Talent on 22 September 2019.[6]

Music video[edit]

The music video for "Bounce" premiered on YouTube on 11 October 2019,[7] and features Jade with dancers in yellow outfits against a yellow backdrop, alternated with pink outfits and a pink backdrop.

Reception[edit]

On 26 September 2019, The Music Network confirmed that "Bounce" was the most added song to Australian radio for that week.[8]

about

This 7th and final entry into the first series of Heat Rock Records releases features a duo of World Music-influenced bangers. The A-side, produced by Bounce Castle (Chicago), is a dancefloor-friendly, Bollywood-flavored remix of one of our favorite tracks from QB's Finest. And on the flip, Altered Tapes (Chicago) comes with a Cumbia / Dancehall / Breakbeat version of a beloved song from "36 Chambers." Cop doubles, triples, or quadruples!
