It is unfortunate that the prices have quadrupled since the last time I came to the store. Given the situation of the pandemic and people get back to normal you would think that prices would remain reasonable. This is very sad.

This place is amazing! This is the best stocked restore I've ever seen. I wish I lived near here just to take advantage of the great selection and deals.

A well-run store, which keeps getting better each time I visit. I frequently find outstanding bargains there, and the store personnel are trustworthy, helpful, courteous, kind, etc., etc., etc. ?

A group of Boulder County restaurants are among the first to join the newly begun Restore Colorado program aimed at raising funding to help farmers implement regenerative farming practices.

The program is a public-private partnership among James Beard Humanitarian of the Year winner Zero Foodprint, regenerative agriculture nonprofit group Mad Agriculture, Boulder County, the city of Boulder, and Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability, and Resiliency.

“Under the Restore Colorado banner, Zero Foodprint member restaurants collect a few cents per meal to provide grants for carbon farming projects overseen by Mad Agriculture,” according to a Boulder County news release. “This funding helps Colorado farmers and ranchers implement regenerative practices such as compost application, perennial and cover crop planting, reduced tillage, and grazing management to build healthy soil. These carbon farming projects advance regional climate initiatives around carbon sequestration, resilience, waste reduction, and circular economies.”

Boulder County participants include:

  • GB Culinary (Longmont).
  • Nude Foods (Boulder).
  • River and Woods (Boulder).
  • Subway (all five Boulder locations).
  • Whistling Boar (Longmont).

“We are in a climate crisis, which can often make us feel helpless. Restore Colorado tackles climate change, supports our local producers, and creates healthier soils on local farms and ranches — it’s a win-win,” Boulder County Office of Sustainability director Susie Strife said in a statement. “Boulder County is thrilled to be a part of such an innovative program.”

    Design Process

group of engineering professionals consults project design plans

A large-scale project such as Resilient St. Vrain requires a great deal of organization, planning and design work even before the first shovel breaks ground. Longmont began working on designs for Resilient St. Vrain in 2014.

The preliminary design phase involved environmental permitting and other planning tasks, including ensuring the design plans incorporated the master plans already in place. These activities consider all potential options to select ones that will best meet the project goals.

An overview of the plans is created and reviewed, and changes are incorporated into the preliminary design. A very large project like Resilient St. Vrain has preliminary design documents for each phase of the planned work.

The final design plans provide most details needed for construction and landscaping to occur. At that point, a contractor is selected and construction work begins using the design plans. Extensive projects like Resilient St. Vrain have a Final Design plan for each phase of work planned.
