Top 17 Cool & Unusual Hotels in Steamboat Springs
Who doesn’t enjoy a good trip to the ‘Boat!? It’s one of those crazy mountain towns that keeps you coming back season after season. I mean there’s a curse and about it and all…
Those who come to Steamboat are doomed to return year after year for the rest of their lives. – Yampa Valley Curse
While you may hear the the above curse quoted a number of different ways, that’s the gist of it. It was supposedly cast on the land by a Ute Indian Chief long ago, whose tribe had spent summers in the area until 1879. More likely, it was made up by a town local in the late 1960s after the ski resort opened in 1966, since there’s no record of anyone hearing the curse before then.

Hotels steamboat springs
Featuring an outdoor swimming pool and fitness center, this Steamboat Springs, Colorado hotel is less than a 5-minute drive from skiing opportunities at Steamboat Ski Resort. The Inn at Steamboat completely exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly, free ski shuttle was extremely convenient, room was clean and very nice, beds were very comfortable, linens were super nice, housekeeping was on point and came every day, hot breakfast was great and made to order, parking was close, easy, and plentiful, pool and hot tub were well maintained and it was awesome they keep the pool open year round. The kids loved it. I could keep going! The #1 reason I loved it though, was they didn’t make a single COVID-related excuse for cutting corners. They didn’t cut ANY corners. The sauna wasn’t open which is completely fine and understandable and that’s it. I’m so used to crappy experiences “due to COVID” in every hotel I’ve stayed in, that I was honestly expecting zero housekeeping, a worthless grab and go “breakfast”, and for most things to be closed or on hold but there was none of that. The Inn delivered an excellent experience and made our ski vacation extremely nice!! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
